He became a certified professional building designer in 1974. Newell has specialized in the design and planning of custom homes and commercial projects for over 48 years and has been involved in the design of residential and commercial projects throughout the country. He is a specialist in ADA, Aging In Place, and Residential Assisted Living design. Newell has won numerous national and state design awards over the years.
A Certified Professional Building Designer with the American Institute of Building Design, Newell Cheatheam has been active in the home building, construction and design industry for over 48 years. In 2015, he was inducted into the College of Fellows of AIBD the highest obtainable award of the Institute. His building designs appear in many states across the US and 1 foreign country. He is the recipient of numerous national and state design awards and has organized and a member of many nonprofits.
