Newell Cheatheam, CPBD, FAIBD, TIBD founder of Newell’s Designs in 1978, attended University of Houston majoring in Architecture, Interior Design and Art. He became a certified professional building designer in 1974. Newell has specialized in the design and planning of custom homes and commercial projects for over 48 years and has been involved in the design of residential and commercial projects throughout the country. He has been involved in the design of more than 4000 custom homes. He is a specialist in ADA, Aging In Place, and Residential Assisted Living design. Newell has won numerous national and state design awards over the years. He is a member and board member of The Texas Institute of Building Design and past board member of The American Institute of Building Design.
A Certified Professional Building Designer with the American Institute of Building Design, Newell Cheatheam has been active in the home building, construction and design industry for over 48 years. In 2015, he was inducted into the College of Fellows of AIBD the highest obtainable award of the Institute. His building designs appear in many states across the US and 1 foreign country. He is the recipient of numerous national and state design awards and has organized and a member of many non profits. He is also a Texas Licensed Interior Designer.
